Seasonal Performers – Spring 2021

We are looking for people who are fun, reliable, confident, upbeat and have a friendly personality to join our team of Seasonal performers!

Positions include: Activity leaders and Mascot performers.
Working Dates:
12th – 18th April 2021 (Celebration of Spring Week)
1st – 3rd May 2021(May Bank Holiday)
28th May – 6th June 2021 (Half Term Holidays)
General Working Hours:
9:45am – 5:00pm. Flexibility on start/finish time required on select dates.
Pay Rate: National Minimum Wage
Costume and Training Provided.
Full and Part Time Positions available.

CAN YOU:

  • Lead workshops including crafts, games and activities to a set schedule.
  • Perform in character and improvise lines to create a magical experience.
  • Publicly speak to large groups of people.

Zoo-Farm Animal Keeper

Zoo-Farm Animal Keeper

Farm Hand

This role requires a hands-on approach working within our  Farm; we are looking for a responsible and dedicated individual to join our animal team on a full-time basis. The successful individual will ideally have a broad-base of animal knowledge – experience working with a range of animals or within a petting farm environment is desirable but not essential. You must have a flexible approach whilst being engaging, confident, approachable and keen to learn new skills whilst focusing on animal welfare and visitor engagement. In addition to the daily tasks, this position also includes taking part in, and delivering, daily animal encounters with visitors (Covid-19 restrictions apply).

• You must be confident, enthusiastic, and able to publically speak to large groups of people

• You must be able to engage with visitors and answer enquiries

• You must be able to work as part of a team but also confident in working and carrying out tasks alone

• Keen eye for detail

• Excellent time-keeping 

• High levels of flexibility in order to respond to daily challenges across a wide range of areas.

• You must be able to work weekends, school holidays and bank holidays

• Animal care qualifications are desirable, but not essential. Ongoing in-house training is given.

• Assisting with general site maintenance including the emptying of bins, sweeping, weeding and cleaning.

• Day to day care and husbandry of all animals including sheep, goats, equines, rabbits/guinea pigs, aviary birds and poultry.

• Diet preparation, animal observation and record keeping.

• Assisting with veterinary care when needed.

• Full clean UK or EU driving licence and own car preferable due to location.

• Strict adherence to safe working practices and high standards.

This is a full-time position, starting time will be 08.00 am daily, however, flexibility is essential and more hours may be required during peak times including school holidays, special events, lambing etc. Hourly rate to be discussed at interview stage.

We are Twinlakes Park, The East Midlands No.1 family day out. We are always seeking quality and reliable staff to join our very busy team. We have exciting opportunities for admissions and retail rangers. You will be the first person our guests see, so we are looking for happy, confident applicants to process bookings and welcome our guests in to the park. You will also need to be able to work independently and have the motivation to run your own retail outlet for the day. This could be in our gift shop or in one of our ice cream shacks, displaying stock effectively, take payments, operate tills and maintain a clean work environment and pleasant manner.

Gardener

Gardener

The role requires a knowledgeable gardener with strong communication skills to assist our gardening team with a wide range of duties. The successful applicant will be a reliable and capable gardener with the ability to either work on their own or part of a small team. Plant and lawn care knowledge advantages but not essential as training will be given.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Working to a time schedule for each job.
  • Using hand and or power tools or equipment to perform a wide range of landscape maintenance such as Mowing lawns, Trimming shrubs, Planting, Lawn Fertilising, Lawn Aeration and Scarification, Raking, Leaf clearance, Hedge trimming, Pruning, etc.
  • Use of manual hand tools such as pruners
  • Use of cutting / vacuuming equipment
  • Ability to work in most weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry
  • Ability to load/unload from a vehicle
  • Additionally, employees are expected to abide by all internal control & compliance practices to:
  • Safeguard assets from theft and misuse
  • Comply with business ethics, applicable laws and regulation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • You will need to wear company clothing as supplied.
